I know, Gai means chicken and so you can't veganize this. Well, it happened, thanks to the genuineness that is Minimalist Baker. This soup is just as I remember it being, flavors rich with ginger, lemongrass and coconut with an added sweetness from roasted butternut squash. With the cool weather rolling in, this is just perfect for a chilly night!
Ah. Ladies, you know when those cramps start up but they're not quite so bad where you're looking for pain meds but bad enough where you're just lounging around the house with a hot pack on your abdomen? Insert golden milk here. Golden milk is made with turmeric, hence the rich golden color, and other spices that have warming and moving actions within the body (helps with the cramping). And guess what! It's also extremely anti-inflammatory, so men, you can enjoy this too! It's delicious and healthy, something you can drink daily to warm your soul when you first wake up in the morning, or just throughout those times when you're not feeling your best (eh, ladies, that one's for you).
This whipped cream is light and fluffy and I could literally eat an entire bowl of this stuff. No regrets. Especially because there is literally nothing to regret about it. It has no sugar, instead it is sweetened with liquid stevia. Secret ingredient to make it so whipped-cream like? It's coconut! But it doesn't taste like coconut! How? I have no clue, but my brother confirmed this as he detests coconut.
Since I'm off of wheat for two weeks (I'm doing a two week self challenge of no wheat, no added/refined sugars) I feel like my breakfast options have become a little slimmer. Occasionally I would eat a bagel or toasted slice of sprouted bread. With that said, I did not miss the bagel or the bread after eating this delicious warm chia seed banana porridge. It's prepped at night and takes just a minute to prepare in the morning. Sounds great, doesn't it?
